Bad news, it’s been a little over a year since Dan Dan had received the umbilical blood donation (stem cell treatment) but the cancer had returned with a vengeance.Dan Dan is being prepared these days for another round of aggressive chemotherapy. Tomorrow, thrombocyte blood donation will be held for him at Herzel 160 Tel Aviv.

Update, Nov 3rd, 2009:
Great news!It’s a little over 2 months since Dan Danreceived the umbilical blood donation (stem cell treatment) and it was fully accepted.It seems that Dan Dan has started the long way to full recovery.He’ll be celebrating his 4th birthday in a few days.

Update Sep 8th 2009:Dan-Dan received an umbilical blood donation several day ago and needs thrombocyte donation that matches the donor.He his in great pain and is sedated most of the time.We pary for the best.

After a period of remission Dan-Dan condition worsened and the bad news are that the cancer returned 20% stronger.
For the last 3 weeks Dan-Dan has been going through an aggressive chemotherapy in preparation for bone marrow transplant.The national blood sapling campaign that took place in January failed to find a donor for Dan or Amit (although 7 other kids were matched and the database was enlarged by 63,200 samples).The planned transplant is scheduled to take place some time in August after the chemotherapy will end.
