The native Americans Sam Gellman has lived and worked for some five years ago in Hong Kong, China. In 2009, he discovered photography and documented since his extensive travels through Asia. During the recordings Gellman focuses on the rural people and wants to show his true with the camera’s motto, always be exploring ‘the land, its people and culture of their fascinating and positive side.

For the series North Korea , the photographer traveled in September 2011 for four days in the capital Pyongyang and then photographed the annual mass spectacle of the party’s foundation day.

With a high degree of discipline and training more than 100,000 dancers move synchronously and symmetrically. It created this impressive and colorful images of controlled mass dynamics, singing hymns with a lot of symbolism to the party, army and its dictatorial leader.
